I lead the vision, architecture, and craft of how a company should be experienced. The work spans product, brand, space, and story. Across industries and audiences, enterprise and consumer, in-house and agency, teams of five and teams of hundreds.

My leadership mirrors the way I make. Demanding, creative, clear about what the work is for. I hire and grow talent, and the best of it has followed me from company to company. I hold a high bar for intelligence and craft. I challenge the false choices of quality vs speed, human vs machine, make vs think, intuition vs data.

I right-size teams to the task. High talent density, lean by design. I stay close to the craft. Not a micromanager, not a delegator, a working collaborator.

User-centered design has quietly become a proxy for design without a point of view. The magic is where a company’s self-definition meets a real user’s need.

The seat I am built for is a full-experience mandate. I am drawn to companies at an inflection—formation, transformation, growth—where the playbook has to be rewritten. I work best with founders and leaders who get that design shapes what a company becomes, and give it a real seat at the table.

I lecture at Parsons and Stanford’s d.school, and serve as a juror for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Awards, D&AD, and The Drum.

Alongside my work in industry, I served on the AIGA Board of Directors from 2011 to 2014, and now serve on the U.S. Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee, appointed to help decide what America commemorates. I live in New York with my husband, a Mexican filmmaker, and keep a studio where I paint. Our home is a place for sobremesas and creative gatherings, often joined in by friends and our four grown children.
